Saturday Marathon Session:
Wow! What a rush! Saturdays game started at 16:30 hrs at El Karatina. I decided to get a stack of notecards and keep track of each level. Nine hours later finds the team at the Main Staircase leading to the ballroom and General Badr. There are 40 seperate levels that one has to go through... it took nine hours for the first 39 and another hour for the last one, but I was pretty fatigued by that point. At least it's better than the 13 hour tour-of-duty I did before. Wonder how fast a practised team could blast through from start to finish?
The team members were:
Sgt. Kimo
TheUnknowned
Diesel
Elric_Marsoc
Dano
A Moose
Buzz
Mean Bastard
Dead Preacher
Shotgun
Jeff Taylor

Funniest player of the night: Major DIck, who lived up to his name as soon as he logged in. I was still laughing about it long after I booted him. Like we couldn't see that one coming...

The hero of the night was The Unknowned who continually pulled our butts out of the fire and finished levels long after we all died. It seemed that he was getting at least a bronze star every level he played. The Unknowned also helped keep morale up so we could finish the game, since I was ready to quit after almost an hour of getting spanked on the last level. And congrats to Sgt. Kimo, who completed La Sagesse with 31 one shot kills out of 44 to get a marksman badge with his M16 (!), along with a 10K bronze star and a 20K unit citation (between the two of us).

Highlights:
Kimo was cleaning out the computer shop and he closed the door leading to the courtyard. Sqeak - it opened back up again. Obviously there was opfor on the other side, so he goes to check - noone. He closes it, it opens. Close, open. Close, open. We both type "WTF?", since the door was opening by itself... is the computer shop haunted? It seems so.

A suicide jumper? Diesel, A Moose, Kimo, and I were trying to finish the first level with the press (when you meet the press in the top floor of the building) and A Moose was the only one left. A sniper jumped out of the window and fell to the street! The others saw it too, so I wasn't hallucinating. The jokes that followed were pretty funny...

And boy, was it good to see an old friend! Mean Bastard, one of the first players I met in the game finally got his computer fixed. Good to see you again! Now all us grumpy old farts can get together and complain about getting the kids off our yards.

A final note: if you read this blog you are more than welcome to join any game that I post the password for - don't wait for an invite.

Not sure if I'm going to play today, I have work I need to do for tomorrrow but who knows, I'll probably be playing this evening. Addiction is a terrible thing. Wonder how long it's gonna take for me to burn out on the game? Maybe I should get a dell so I can play AA. And run a ventrillo server. Anyways, I gotta get to work. Have a good Sunday folks!
