Sundays open game: Nef, Lou Cypher, Belisario, SSGT Burns, Montana, Moshe Dyan, and Chuck Norris, along with a few others.

I usually try not to talk about negative things, but hell, this is my blog and I can talk about what I want, right?

Back in my April 6 post I mentioned a booting war I had with a TK'er named Marine Rolim. Guess who showed up today? So here we are, in the level where we are supposed to meet Badger 6 across from the bread shop. There was only one team member out of three still alive, and Rolim logs in. I ask Rolim if he is still a TK'er or if he's a team player - of course he says "I'm a team player". Ok, that's fine, I'll give him a chance. The third member of our team goes down and Rolim jumps on the technical in the middle of the junction. No more OPFOR in sight, and Rolim is still on the technical. He then starts whining "HELP ME". Well, we're dead - kinda hard for us to help. The whining continued so I tell him he has to hit the checkpoint.
"But I don't have a checkpoint button!" Holy crap. "Go to the yellow dot on your map". So he goes, and looks through the window and sees a shoulder of one of the AI marines.POW! He shoots. We yell at him not to shoot the marines. He then goes around to the doorway, walks in, and starts drilling Badger 6 one by one. Apparently not only is Rolim still an ass, he also thinks that I'd forgotten about him from before. Just wanted to share that with y'all in case you see Marine Rolim - tell him he's still a jackass.

Also, F_Sniper_Wolf showed up today. This one is a chatty little buttwipe that I booted from my game a couple of times back in Feb. Funny thing is I had a conversation with someone last night (name witheld) who tracks the IP's of problem players and it turns out that F_Sniper_Wolf has a number of other names, all of whom have been giving the game a bad name lately. He shows up, says hi, and I say "Hi, Wolf. If that is you, of course. Someone has been using your ID lately." He should call himself David Blaine, he dissapeared so fast. Open games provide much more than the opportunity to meet new people - I also get so much amusement from watching the kiddies try to pull a fast one.

After playing the game so much (my estimate is something like 500 hours since Christmas) it's not about the level or the kills, it's about hanging out with a cool team. TK'ing simply amuses me now since I don't really care if we complete the level or not. It's almost like poker, where I can identify players by their style and strategy even if they change their name. And besides, it's only the games with the hardcore players I work with regularly that I actually take seriously. It cracks me up to see noobs scream at each other for making mistakes. All I gotta do is hang back and soon enough I'll be able to show them how to finish the level solo.
Well, there is ONE thing that irritates me a little... when the rushers all die early on, then spend the rest of the level crying for me to kill myself so they can get back in. Tough luck, kiddos. Watch and learn.

Got any funny TK'er stories? Share them with me. See you tonight - pword game at 19:30 CST or so - call on ventrilo if you want in.

Yes, I know that 500 some-odd hours since Christmas is more than a hobby, it's a sickness. Addiction is a terrible thing. Wonder what I'd do with the 4-5 hours a night, every night, that I spend on this damn game?
